Dr. PK Gupta

Dr. Praveen K Gupta is the visiting Consultant Neurosurgeon at Memorial Hospital, bringing more than four decades of neurosurgical experience to Sonipat. He trained in neurosurgery at NIMHANS, Bangalore - India's premier neurosciences institute - and holds the FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK. He currently serves as Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at Max Plus Hospital, Panipat, and consults at Memorial Hospital on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

His career spans leading centres in India and abroad: over a decade as Consultant Neurosurgeon with the Ministry of Health in Bahrain (Salmania Medical Complex), seven years at Khoula Hospital in Muscat, Oman, and appointments in Saudi Arabia and Botswana - alongside two stints at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi. Since 2019 he has practised in Sonipat itself, so families here already know his OPD well.

His operative range covers emergency head injury care, brain tumours - including pituitary tumours removed through the nose (endonasal trans-sphenoid surgery), skull-base and posterior fossa tumours - aneurysm and AVM surgery, microvascular decompression for facial pain, endoscopic procedures, and spine surgery including anterior cervical operations and spinal instrumentation. A former teacher at NIMHANS, Goa Medical College and Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, he is the author of 51 scientific publications.
